Oct 22 to Jan 6 reflections from an upcoming book for tending hurting hearts at Christmas
The one true God is constantly longing to meet with you one-on-one spiritually to provide what you need to go on. You supernaturally receive enough strength, healing and comfort to take up your purposeful kingdom-of-God assignment. Sometimes He accomplishes this deep inner spiritual work invisibly in ways which are beyond what can be humanly fathomed. However, He also works powerfully through other people. He places them where you need them to receive a moment’s encouragement or consolation. Tangible, practical acts of authentic God-love coming through others! This also part of the promise of Jesus because Holy Spirit is finally here directing Father’s work.
What wonder! What current beauty in the Christmas promise of God-with-you now through forever! God wants to use you in your hard places. It is His plan! His will. To be the presence of His love to yet others. Part of the answer. Part of the fulfillment of His promise. Because He came. Because of Christmas.
You may not even recognize He is using you. You may try to discount any value you have. Yet, the work He has for you is astoundingly important. It may be just a smile to a stranger, which you never realize was that touch of heaven’s love which another desperately needed right then. It may be a kind word shared with another or a God-focused upward uttered prayer.
Part of Jesus’ birthday promise is the Holy Spirit who came and now can work through you. You are a vital part of God’s mystical Body where He works through all the parts individually and together to accomplish His work of restoring love on earth as in heaven. Holy Spirit’s ceaseless action of holy love can and will use you wherever you are for the greater life and thriving for the entire world, one seemingly small thought or action at a time for often one individual at a time with now through forever consequences. This glorious God-work is done while you continue in life’s muck, yearning for promised future life with God to come, where it all resolves and is finally fully good. The promise of Christmas is life forever and now through Jesus for those who choose to believe and follow, and His divine, Jesus-emulating purpose for you and through you in the midst.
What do you already know about how He wants to use you? What is to be done now and what yet to come? Just remember. None of it is small.
I love You, oh Lord my Strength. You are the Light who shines in my darkness. You are the beacon which beckons from the next hills illuminating Your way with Your next steps for me. Your way is mysterious. It is glorious. Especially when I cannot clearly see. For even then You lead me. And You have good work for me to do. God-assignments. The thought of there causes me to rejoice with such gratitude. I am emboldened to walk out the life-path before me. For You because You are. For all the others because You care. You are Love. How blessed that You plan to use each of us in this love for the other.
11 All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses.
12 For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
13 For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.
14 For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many.
15 If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body?
16 If the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where [would be the sense of] smell?
18 But as it is, God has placed and arranged the limbs and organs in the body, each [particular one] of them, just as He wished and saw fit and with the best adaptation.
19 But if [the whole] were all a single organ, where would the body be?
20 And now there are [certainly] many limbs and organs, but a single body.
21 And the eye is not able to say to the hand, I have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 But instead, there is [absolute] necessity for the parts of the body that are considered the more weak.
23 And those [parts] of the body which we consider rather ignoble are [the very parts] which we invest with additional honor, and our unseemly parts and those unsuitable for exposure are treated with seemliness (modesty and decorum),
24 Which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so adjusted (mingled, harmonized, and subtly proportioned the parts of) the whole body, giving the greater honor and richer endowment to the inferior parts which lack [apparent importance],
25 So that there should be no division or discord or lack of adaptation [of the parts of the body to each other], but the members all alike should have a mutual interest in and care for one another.
26 And if one member suffers, all the parts [share] the suffering; if one member is honored, all the members [share in] the enjoyment of it.
27 Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body and [individually] you are members of it, each part severally and distinct [each with his own place and function].
