Especially this year, you may need to know God speaks. If you let Him, He will speak to your heart, teaching you to hear Him. This is not with your physical ears, which are the receptors for messages translated by your brain, but your spiritual ears. These are connected to your soul. Here understanding is gained on the deepest level. At the level of the heart. Your inner most being! This is where engagement with invisible, supernatural God begins and remains. It is where inner healing is found. And direction, courage and strength to go on. Purpose. Activation. Hope. Even though you hurt.
God whispers thoughts into the interior spaces of your mind and heart. These drop at first in a way that you may not differentiate from your own. You may not have known He can speak and that you need to pay attention. Yet, He is speaking and wants you to hear because He has gifts for you. Christmas gifts which remain.
Communicating what God wants you to know is one of the main roles of the Holy Spirit. To impart to you the thoughts and will of Most High God. Jesus is the One you follow. He shows the Way. This is a Way of life now through forever. One of Jesus’ main roles was to reveal Father. To make the nature of God visible by only doing what Father showed Him. As He did so, people saw God. This was the core of Jesus’ life. Jesus listened. God spoke. Jesus had times it was important to go off and be alone with Father to pray. This prayer was not just speaking to Father but being consciously available to hear from Father so that Jesus knew what Father wanted. Thus, everything Jesus said and did was a mirroring of what Father planned from heaven. Father expressing His will and Jesus His reflection acting it out, so Father could be seen. Made visible through Jesus.
Before Jesus ascended back to Father, He promised He would not leave us alone. That includes you. He promised He would ask Father and Father would send the Holy Spirit to be our Teacher, Comforter, Advocate and Guide. Spirit is God-with-us still, waiting to impart Father’s will for you at all times, Just as Jesus heard from Father. Never perfectly because you cannot hear Him perfectly. But enough because Spirit of God makes it so.
God still needs to be seen in this world and it happens most often through His followers like you. Spirit is also wanting to be God’s consolation through helping you understand.
You promised Your Spirit to those who believe. Lord, I confess my faith in You. For me there is no other. My Savior and my God, I cannot walk this life alone, so please increase the presence of Your Spirit in and around me that I may walk more closely with You. For heart-peace. For joy. For God-led, purposeful living even now.
1 Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—
17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.
