Lord, what would You have me do today? I am Yours. The sun is rising again and I am honored to remain Your ambassador here for as long as You deem appropriate to leave me in this life on assignment.
How You bless me with beauty, goodness and purpose even while I am living in this fallen world, which has become a foreign land to me. There is so much around me in the culture with which I no longer agree because my life is dedicated to You. Yet, in the midst of my disappointment You tell me to lift up my eyes to You and know You are God.
In Your eyes I see the love for every person which caused You to give up Your life and die for me. Into my mind Your words drop like pearls: “Do You love me enough to die for them, too? Love them. Be patient. Rest in Me and I will pour My Spirit through you to touch them with my perfect, everlasting, infinite, merciful love. And those who choose to turn and know me as God, Savior and Lord through Jesus will be redeemed.”
Lord, may it be done to me according to Your perfect will, plan and power. I cannot love them, but You can. I have no power, but You have all power. I cannot save the world from its precarious course, but Your love and mercy are unstoppable and nothing can prevent You from accomplishing Your purposes. Use me. I give You my life. Use me for Your glory.
Sometimes I forget that this is my purpose. You created me to give You glory – to shine Your Light, Truth and Way through how I am in You, my attitudes and how I act so that all will have the opportunity to know You are God. All my life is really about seeking You, finding You and following You. There is nothing else I need for You promise to provide the rest perfectly until the day You call me home to heaven.
Sometimes I fall into worry and fear about even the most basic things. Thank You for being a God who is near, a God who cannot lie and therefore can be relied upon to fulfill every promise and a God who forgives us our shortcomings, weaknesses and offenses. Lord, please forgive me for every time I have forgotten to rely on You, tried to live in my own power or been afraid, when You already promised to handle it.
Moses, knew he could not do that to which You had called him unless You were with him and so he told You, he would not leave Your presence unless You went with him. Lord, I cannot do anything good unless You are with me. I do not want my temporal result, but Your eternal result. Lord, I won’t go further into my day unless You go with me.
Thank You for being a God who hears. Thank You for being a God who loves. Thank You that Your goodness is infinite and Your love all-surpassing. You are in control and no matter what comes my way I choose to rejoice because I belong to You. I choose to rest in You. Thank You for loving me and leading me. I am listening. I am submitted. Have Your way.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
