Beautiful Savior with eyes so full of unfathomable love for us, give us eyes for You alone. Only by the power and grace of Your ever-present Holy Spirit can our chins be lifted up to gaze steadily and constantly upon You. You are Truth. You are Life. You are Love manifesting in and through mercy unending. You forgive the offender and comfort the offended, offering supernatural balm of healing especially when life makes no sense. Then You weave both into the tapestry of Your Body through whom You spread the fragrance of Your Love and witness of Your Truth to a hungry world destined to die without You.
Magnificent Savior, You give all to eat of Your satiating Bread of Life who will turn to You and seek it. You take us, who are orphans without You, grappling for peace and purpose, adopt us as Your eternal children and set us next to You in the everlasting heavenlies where You reign and nothing, nothing, nothing can stop Your good purposes–where You already are and have always been and will always be Victor.
You pour out on us eternal goodness which we could never deserve, rescuing us from this hideous exile into which we were born where we encounter hate, anger, jealousy, selfishness, illness, death, sadness, horrendous injustices and more. Yet even while we are still in this place, by Your grace You give us purpose as Your ambassadors to shine Your Light every day by Your Spirit in both hard and easy places until You call us home to be with You in eternal goodness and Light, before You always, and united with those who have gone faithfully before.
All You ask of us are seeking hearts–hearts which first seek You, yearning to find You, yearning to know You–and then bowing to You in allegiance, comprehending Your innate superiority, seeking to discern Your will and to do it by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
You fulfill Your promises. You are ever-faithful. Your Spirit–sent at Your request of the Father, Jesus, following Your death and resurrection–comes to every heart who seeks and waits for Him and never leaves us or forsakes us, walking with us as we carry the mortal crosses which are part of living under the dominion of the prince of the air who is more powerful than we are, but nothing compared to You.
Holy Spirit, You walk with us just as You walked with Jesus! Oh, Father, thank You for Your creation (including us), Wisdom and Way. Oh, Jesus, thank You for Your birth, life, death, resurrection and ongoing intercession which have reunited us with our Father and gives us hope for the future. Our true inheritance awaits, to which we could not restore ourselves. Thank You, Spirit for coming and being our Comforter, Friend, Helper and Guide as we learn to listen for Your will and You empower us to complete it in a way You, God, are made known and glorified so that Your Kingdom is grown and Your purpose to restore humanity to Yourself is accomplished. In Jesus’ name, Amen
